How to Get Into the Christmas Spirit | eHow.com

Looking for the Christmas spirit.

Apparently I am not alone. Getting in the Christmas mood seems harder as the years go by. What happened to those days of utter excitement starting with the entrance of December. Planning the cookie bake, the art and craft afternoons creating christmas treasures from macaroni, egg cartons, Styrofoam balls, gold, silver and red spray point, dried apple santa's ( those took 6wks you had to start early for this one) you name it we could turn it into a Christmas ornament. And then there was the shopping. Happily walking downtown, visiting all the shops. Usually you would pick a snowy night, ( makes it more Christmassy) dusting off the snow as you enter each shop commenting on what a great night it was to shop!!! Christmas carols playing in the background Bing Crosby, perry Como, Dean Martin, frank Sinatra, Gene Autry,Harry Belafonte, Jose feliciano even Ann Murray,( remember her Christmas specials). And then there was the classic nights of the Christmas shows, curled up in front of the tv with just the lights of the Christmas tree glowing throughout the living room.

Now Christmas starts to bombard us starting around Nov.11 ( they don't even let you alone for remembrance day, Thanksgiving and Halloween, The Sears wish book was out in early October I believe. We have to buy gifts that we think people want, trudging through the hot malls, bumping into crabby people with no patience. Clerks that would rather be doing anything else then what they are doing ( I suppose they can only listen to people complain so long ) Christmas music consists of remix dance stuff, Silent night YO Yo , oh holy Night , YO YO ( well really i don't know if a song like this exists, I too afraid to find out) And the Christmas shows, don't even want to go there.....
So here we are another Christmas season upon us, and I am trying to stay up beat. I only go out shopping when I know I have time, because that person in front of me in the check out line will, either, 1. drop something 2. will have forgotten the item they came there for and will have to run and retrieve it. 3. at least one item will not scan properly, 4. the debit machine will not read the card properly. 5. Insuffient funds, ( not keeping track of the 15 uses before this one) 6. The cashier will have to go on break just as you are ready to unload your haul. I could go on and on, but I won't.
All things said when the last of the Christmas stuff is done and you are sitting there Christmas Eve with everyone around that is suppose to be there, with drink in hand and the candles flickering and the lights all aglow, the music playing in the background and the gifts under the tree, we can sit back and say, I can't believe it's Christmas Eve.

Good luck with finding your Christmas spirit .

Oh course E how has a page of instructions to follow, it just wouldn't be the same......
Good luck,
I hope to see you soon.

Live, laugh, love, and BE MERRY,
it all makes you
FEEL GOOD

Cheers Kathy
xx
