mango salad and new additions.

I forgot how much i love mango salad. Cilantro is one herb that makes my mouth water. As soon as it is ready in the garden, I am a bit of attic. Just brushing by it makes me crave anything cooked with it.


Mangos
red pepper
cilantro
onion
fresh lime juice
olive oil

This lovely dish was given to me by best cousin/sister. I can already picture lovely desserts upon it. And I am sure I will think of something else to use it for as well.




This was a steal at the second hand store. Something I have always wanted and just never seemed to find the right one. I will be using it for cold soups this summer, just to try it out.

My garden is coming along nicely. I have been working on the front, clearing out , adding and moving around. The ducks have been helping me keep the critters out . The back garden is like a forest. I really need to get in along the fence and clear away some of my sunflowers. WOW, They are starting in on my grass. The pear trees are in full bloom, the strawberries are spreading nicely. I should have a good crop this year again. Strawberry Chardonnay for sure.
The apple tree I tried to root last year is coming to life, Hurray, I was so happy to see the two of them coming to bud. The plum tree is looking nice and healthy, ( this is only the 2nd year) so I don't know what to expect. And the grapes, well, they will be bountiful this year again. The currants have a ton on them, I hope the dogs do there job keeping the chipmunks and squirrels out of them. They have become great hunters of them ( actually they just chase them , the chipmunks really make them look quite dumb....
The vegetable garden is in as well. I am sure I will add things as I go, I always do.
